Chakras, Chi, And Chiropractic Care: What The 3 Have In Common

Blog

New age medicine meets chiropractors halfway. At least, that is what you can assume when you see a new age or natural healing shop that provides chiropractic care. Yet, do these different approaches to caring for your mind and body have in common? If you look closer, you will see that chakras, chi (or qi), and chiropractors have a lot more in common than maybe you realized.

1. Connections Between Chakras and Chi

Chi is supposedly the energy force that moves through all matter. Active chi exists in living things, while inactive chi exists in non-living things. Those who can harness chi through meditation and chi exercises are able to channel that chi through their bodies to act on other objects, or so the story goes.

A chakra is a series of energy channels that are spaced along the center of the human body, typically shown to exist from your head to your coccyx (or tailbone). Seven different energies that control different aspects of the human body flow through the chakra line. The dominant characteristic between chi and chakras is energy. Energy flowing and energy influencing all parts of the body is what connects chi to chakras in these belief systems.

2. Connecting Energy to Chiropractic Care

Chiropractors will tell you that the spine is the main "message board" and "communication system" for nerves traveling to and from the brain. When a vertebra or a disc is out of alignment, the messages that are supposed to be transmitted between the brain and the affected parts of the body "short-circuit." The messages just do not get through to the body parts that are controlled by the nerves in the affected area of your spine. Your energy is disrupted.

Actual physical energy disruptions noted in chiropractic care are akin to the chi. Both are energy, and both can be blocked unintentionally, or accidentally. Taking time to treat and clear the disruptions opens up the chi and opens up the spine to send and receive messages from the brain.

3. Connecting the Chiropractic to the Chakras

Likewise, the energy channels in one's chakra travel the length of the spine, similar to messages sent along the spine to and from the brain. Each region of your back and your body is controlled by a set of nerves that exit from your spine to your bodily organs. The chakra ideology has the same idea. Hence, chi, chakra, and chiropractic care are very similar treatments of the body's problems.

Getting My Back Fixed Once And For All

After suffering with debilitating back pain for years, I decided it might be a good idea to finally meet with a doctor. I didn't want to beat around the bush with the issue, so I headed straight to a specialist who I thought could help me: a chiropractor. Even though it was my first appointment, my doctor was incredible and got to work right away on my problem. He took images of my spine and then talked with me about the results. I found out that several of my vertebrae were eroding, which was putting a lot of pressure on my spinal column. He made adjustments that made me feel a lot better right away. Check out this blog to learn more about how a chiropractor could help you.
